Working closely with Edinburgh City Council we have undertaken both large and small asbestos removal projects for various schools and public buildings.

Focusing on the school boiler rooms we have removed asbestos containing insulation from pipework, boilers and calorifiers through the controlled injection, via our red box system, of the asbestos insulation to facilitate the safe removal and to allow the re-insulation of these items. 

We have also carried out environmental cleans of the boiler houses to allow safe access to other trades.

Other works we have carried out for the councils include instances where they wish a boiler room to be handed back to them ‘asbestos free’. We have used equipment from Quill to shot blast the walls removing all encapsulated asbestos debris that was present.

We have also carried out asbestos and demolition work for major supermarkets within the Edinburgh city centre area. These works generally entail the soft strip of the building back to the original walls giving the main contractor a blank canvas to start the refit.

However, it is not just main contractors or local authorities that we have carried out work for in the Edinburgh and Lothian areas. We also carry out asbestos removal from domestic premises, ranging from the removal and disposal of asbestos cement soffits or garage roofs to the more complex removal of asbestos insulation from below floors from old heating pipes.

For these works we can carry either help in the procurement of a fully qualified asbestos surveyor or simply have the material sampled by a UKAS accredited laboratory, and once the results are known give the most appropriate advice for moving forward (this will not always be removal of the affected materials).
