Before demolition works in Kirkcaldy began, extensive asbestos removal was completed, including:

Ceiling & Light Trims: Removal of Asbestos Insulating Board (AIB) from edges and lights above both swimming pools.
External Soffit & Kitchen: Full enclosure asbestos removal using fixed scaffolding.
Chimney Demolition: The asbestos-clad chimney was removed in 20 meticulously executed sections, combining removal and hand demolition for precision and safety.

Precision Planning
& Execution

As demolition progressed in Kirkcaldy, the building’s connection to the live Mercat Shopping Centre was carefully severed using specialist cutting equipment. Supporting steelwork was installed along the adjoining walkway, followed by the use of tracked excavators for roof and structural demolition. Materials were crushed on-site and used to backfill voids, leaving the site safely graded and enclosed with secure hoarding. From start to finish, our team prioritised safety, efficiency, and sustainable practices.
