Project Overview:
This project involved the partial demolition of the Accident and Emergency unit at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. Due to the proximity of live hospital facilities, the works required precision planning, hand demolition techniques, and strict compliance with vibration, dust, and noise control measures.

- Asbestos Removal:
- 350m of asbestos mastic from ducting.
- 64m² of asbestos cement panels removed from exterior windows.
- Full monitoring and enclosures throughout the site.
- Demolition:
- Hand demolition near live structures.
- Mechanical demolition carried out with three 35-tonne excavators.
- Materials were crushed and reused on-site to backfill voids.
